Salto Identity Solutions (formerly Bluefield Smart Access) is a Dutch software company founded in 2013 in Utrecht, now based in Nieuwegein.

Our mission is to simplify and automate the way organizations manage identities and physical access—by registering, verifying, and granting permissions to people and their credentials in a secure and efficient way.

Over the past decade, our dedicated team has grown steadily, supporting partners and users around the world.

We have built a strong presence across multiple sectors, including corporate, industrial, real estate and co-working, government, healthcare, and education.

International Partnership

In early 2022, Bluefield Smart Access began an international partnership with SALTO Systems, combining our software innovation with SALTO’s renowned expertise in access control hardware.

Bluefield Smart Access quickly established itself as a specialist in physical identity and access management (PIAM), developing cloud-based solutions that streamline registration, authentication, and authorization processes. Our products—BlueEntrance (Cloud), BlueConn, and BlueSafety—are designed to automate and simplify access for people and vehicles across a variety of sectors.

In 2025, we took the next step in our journey by fully integrating into the SALTO WECOSYSTEM. Today, Bluefield Smart Access is Salto Identity Solutions. This transition allows us to deliver even greater value by combining our software-first approach with SALTO’s global resources, industry leadership, and cutting-edge hardware—offering our customers and partners a unified, future-ready identity management experience.
